Record Player

June 19th, 2009

INAD-RecordPlayer
Found On: Duluth Craigslist

This is a really great stereo & record player in a console (hope I stated that right). Everything works great on it. The sound is… WOW!!!  The only “unsightly” area is the speaker covers in the front. Just needs a little TLC!

Wow, indeed. I wonder what kind of music was played on this stereo. It was obviously so horrible that the speakers tried desperately to escape. They almost made it out, too. Poor things.

  1. This looks like a fairly nice vintage piece, and those speaker covers are super easy to replace. If all the guts are in place, it’s definitely worth refurbishing. Not that I need it – I already have a busted one of those.

polka did that to the speakers. played at the slowest speed. trust me.

That’s actually a really good deal! Even if the interior components didn’t work completely, I know people who would take this. Someone could make some money on this. Very little time and effort could make this a $200+ piece on E-bay.

OMG my parents had one of those that dated back to the 1960’s.

damn I’d take that. AND I’d pay money for it. I’ll bet it belonged to some old woman with many, many cats. Perhaps the repeated playings of neil diamond got to their wee brains.

Wow… I work at a Goodwill center… and we’ve gotten some of these turntable stereo consoles before… We’ve thrown out BETTER looking ones.

    Clearly, they had cats…

But, yeah, a quick repair and you’d have a cool vintage piece, so this is a big step above the WTFness of most of the items on here!

Don’t need it? You can never have too many of these.

These are bound to be collectable some day. In unrestored condition it’s going to be worth BANK dude!

    I totally want that thing.

  11. Dave says:

The console as a whole is worth nothing, especially as that one looks solid-state, but they could easily pick-ax it up and pull the speakers. Somebody will want those. If it IS tubed, the guts, too, might be worth about twenty on Ebay if they’re the 50C5 crap I’ll bet they are. More if a real amplifier.

You don’t even have to play records backwards to hear the Devil’s voice on THIS thing!

Holy crap, I know somebody who had one of these things! I used to think it was the coolest thing…..when I was 8. I think they still have it.
