INAD - Throw Rug

INAD - Throw Rug

As long as the ad is running – it is still AVAILABLE
We’re in Burlington ky, make sure you want to come here before you ask for it. This rug was stored in a shed with a leaky roof. There are water stains all over the back or the rug, but they do not show on the front.

You forgot to mention the mildew. A rug with water stains from a leaky-roofed shed in Kentucky is also mildewed. And moldy. It’s a law of nature. Nature’s kinda gross.

But the rug still could use a nice scrub or cleaning to soften it back up and remove some of the “sticky feel” it has.

Thank you for mentioning the “sticky feel.” It’s almost spurring me to drive to Burlington, KY.

The top of the rug is a medium to dark shade of purple.

. . . But it’s hard to be sure with the mold and staining.

Measures 7 feet and 10 inches long and is 5 feet wide.

Also hard to be sure, as the rug is alive. It expands and contracts depending on the weather that day, and its mood. It’s a mood rug. Its mood is usually bad.

Let me know when you want to come and get it – Today is best, but could also do friday .

Any later and it will take over the shed once and for all, barring the door and wheezing “get out” when we try to enter.

Rug tends to look lighter color when in artificail light…but, I have it outside on the grass in the bright sunlight right now and it looks almost dark grey or black. This morning when i had it in the house with just the early morning sunlight for lighting it looked most like the last photo. (It must be an amazing , color-changing rug ! ~ just kidding)

It all depends on which mold cultures are winning at the time.

In the photos, the second photo probably shows the most accurate color in indoor lighting.

Right at this moment, anyhow. The mold battle rages on.

..This corner is frayed.

Which will be the least of your problems.

I know they’re afraid of this rug with it being alive and all, but couldn’t they have at least brushed the leaves off it first before taking a picture of it?

  2. Seibee says:

‘Throw rug’ is a bit charitable. That looks more like a bath mat to me.

  3. Con Fused says:

Why do people want to give away/sell crap that would be better off burned/tossed out? I’m convinced half these ‘craigslist’ ads should start with the phrase “Posting here because no one on freecycle would take it.”

    • Bunky says:

No, if no one on freecycle wants it then Goodwill is next on the list. These ads are an excuse to give people who have nothing else to do a reason to be on the computer. They also provide some comic relief.

  4. Rockingfreakapotamus says:

They’ve put a lot of time into decribing the colour in various light conditions.

TBH, I can’t imagine anyone taking this one up even if it happens to be their favourite colour ever!

    as for the “sticky” comment…

  5. Matthew says:

That’s it… the frayed corner put me over the edge. I’m flying to Cincinnati right now.

  6. humor me says:

“throw rug”… more like “Throw-it-out” rug.

  7. //Ann says:

This is so irresistable – hold me back. I’m not sure why she went to such tremendous lengths to describe this goodie in all its good, bad and ugly glory. Maybe she was just whiling away the time while her toenails dried? Really: “5×8 purple rug in less than ideal condition, has spent all of the 21st and most of the 20th century getting leaked on in a rusty shed” – wham bam thankee ma’am, job done.

  8. Anna Rexia says:

The frayed corner makes me think that rats started tearing it apart for nesting material and either died from a mystery illness, or transformed into a new species. Be afraid.

with the time it took the poster to take that photo and write that description, s/he could have walked to the store, bought some industrial strenght gloves and garbage bags, strolled home, bagged up that TRASH, and disposed of it for good. we all have different priorities i guess :)

  10. TheAntiCat says:

“Make sure you want to come here…” That’s what scares me most.

  11. pootpoot says:

I swear to you I haven’t laughed this hard in years. I’m in tears.
